So it's one those wrong decisions that I can at least understand--not like electing Endy Chavez or something.<br />Honestly, I felt a little bad for Harold Baines when it was announced because he gets this tremendous honor and everyone's reaction is "WTF?!".Tristonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03554496126992675035noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1420149012024426620.post-43238875941010264512018-12-11T17:58:21.248-05:002018-12-11T17:58:21.248-05:00I saw Baines play for years, he was a great hitter...I saw Baines play for years, he was a great hitter. Hit .312 with 25 HRs and 103 RBIs when he was 40! He played 10 years plus in the Outfield with various fill in spots until he was 33. Stats don't show what a great arm he had or how fast a jump he got on a fly ball or his good base running or fielding skills. He always seemed to be the guy that got the clutch hit in the right spot. What a joke. 9th place mvp votes once? Sad. Look at his yearly numbers. Sure don't look like a ball of famers. Got a lot of hits and this but 21 years as mostly a dh only. He is no David Ortiz or even Edgar Martinez for that matter. Is a guy who plays 22 seasons and gets 2800 hits better than 13-14 seasons with 2200 hits? I think not. 16 person committee all friends laughable. Put in Bonds, Mcgwire, Rocket already stupid baseball.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
